After being briefed on the unit’s task performance in 2020 and its preparations for the 2021 Lunar New Year (Tet), on behalf of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Ministry of National Defense (MND), General Chiem highly appreciated its achievements over the past time and efforts in overcoming difficulties to fulfill assigned missions.

Especially, the military region organized its party congresses at all levels, implemented COVID-19 prevention and control as well as natural disaster response. Regarding preparations for Tet, the unit also embraced the Secretariat’s and MND’s directives in maintaining combat readiness and COVID-19 prevention and control, contributing to ensuring a happy and safe Tet for its troops.

In the coming time, General Chiem requested the unit’s Command and Party organization to boost management and leadership as well as implement the Prime Minister's Directive No.5 in COVID-19 prevention and control, Defense Minister’s Directive No.42 on strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control measures, and 5K (in Vietnamese) message: Khau trang (facemask) - Khu khuan (disinfection) - Khoang cach (distancing) - Khong tu tap (no gathering) - Khai bao y te (health declaration).

In addition, MR5 was asked to care for the material and spiritual welfare of its troops and their families as well as national contributors in the area, and organize a happy Tet for its troops with absolute safety.

On the same day, General Chiem visited and extended Tet greetings to several military units in Da Nang city.
