Senior Colonel Dao Ngoc Quy, Political Commissar of the Department of Logistics of the Naval Service, and Lo Thi Minh Phuong, Head of the Commission for Information and Education of the Dien Bien provincial Party Committee, co-chaired the event.
This year, amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the naval department and commissions for information and education of the Party committees of Phu Tho, Ha Giang, Dien Bien provinces and Hai Phong city have carried out the maritime information dissemination work in an effective and flexibly-adaptable manner with high quality.
Participating units have proposed numerous innovative and creative dissemination methods in line with the reality of each locality and units, raising the public’s awareness of national sea and islands.
Attentively, diverse forms of dissemination have contributed to arousing faith, patriotism, national pride, consolidating and raising awareness and a high sense of responsibility of departments at all levels, naval troops, and people from all walks of life of the four aforementioned localities on national sea and islands.

The dissemination coordination has also helped boost solidarity, unanimity, and create favorable conditions for related localities and units to accomplish their political duties. Moreover, it has further protected the national maritime sovereignty, continental shelf and sacred borders.
In the year, the Department of Logistics of the Naval Service organized eight meetings to equip 1,736 people in Hai Phong city with knowledge of national sea and islands. Furthermore, the information about the East Sea (South China Sea) issues, recent situation of national sea and islands, outcomes of the demarcation and planting of land border markers between Vietnam and Cambodia, and more has also been provided for locals and troops in Hai Phong, Phu Tho, Ha Giang and Dien Bien.
Concluding the meeting, Senior Colonel Quy highly appreciated good results in dissemination coordination and emphasized the closer collaboration among involved localities in the time ahead.

He also stressed the need to keep a close watch on and make precise forecasts of situational developments, especially those at sea, in border areas, and locals’ opinions, diversify dissemination activities, and resolutely fight and refute distorted arguments taking advantage of the East Sea issue to undermine the great national unity bloc and the fruitful friendship and tradition between Vietnam and neighboring countries.
At the meeting, the naval department and the commissions signed a dissemination coordination plan and awarded groups and individuals outstanding in disseminating information about national sea and islands in 2021.
