The event was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Anh Tuan and Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Major General Phung Quoc Tuan.
During the event, delegates reviewed the organization of information dissemination activities, application of information technology to the dissemination of external information at border gates, cooperation in publishing books and building mini-libraries, and building columns with information about border and national sovereignty on newspapers.
They affirmed that relevant agencies of the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Border Guard Command have cooperated in realizing set targets and programs. In particular, the two sides have diversified their information dissemination forms, invested in equipment for dissemination of external information, and built mini-libraries and products to serve information dissemination in border areas, at sea, and on islands.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Anh Tuan highlighted the achievements in information dissemination obtained by the two sides over the past ten years.

He asked the two units and localities to continue carrying out key contents in the cooperation program in the 2021-2030 period. In particular, the two sides should build detailed action plans, regularly review their implementation, and popularize effective models, among others.
The deputy minister also asked provinces located in border areas to pay due attention to external information dissemination, including training of personnel and investment in modern equipment and vehicles for the work.
For his part, Major General Phung Quoc Tuan asked relevant agencies to strictly carry out contents of the signed coordination program and the Prime Minister’s decision on raising the capability of information dissemination. He also emphasized the need to raise troops’ full awareness of dissemination of information and external information.

At the event, the two sides signed their cooperation regulations for the 2021-2030 period.
Within the conference, the organizers presented certificates of merit issued by the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Border Guard Command to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in information dissemination. They have greatly contributed to effectively managing and firmly protecting sovereignty and public order in border areas.
