Coast guard force effectively combats crimes at sea
PANO - The Coast Guard Command on March 12 reviewed its intensive campaign against crimes and law violations at sea before, during and after the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival 2020.
Addressing the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, the Coast Guard Commander emphasized that the force has embraced and strictly implemented directives from higher levels.
The coast guards have improved their professional competence, organized more patrols and checks, raised their sense of responsibility and been highly resolute in the fight against crimes at sea.
With its good task performance, the force has actively contributed to maintaining security, order, and safety in the local waters, stabilizing domestic market prices and guaranteeing consumer rights.
During the three-month program, the coast guards investigated 253 cases and arrested nearly 350 suspects related to drug trafficking and trade fraud. The total value of seized objects and administrative monetary penalties is estimated at more than VND 50 billion.
