* The conference of the Party Committee of the Air Defense-Air Force Service saw the participation of Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.
During the event, the unit’s Party Committee members embraced the CMC’s resolutions on implementing the military-defense mission and building the army’s Party organizations in 2018; issued their own resolutions to carry out next year’s tasks with a focus on logistical supplies; and reviewed their five-year implementation of Resolution No.18 of the Secretariat of the 11th Party Central Committee (September 4, 2012) on strengthening the Party’s leadership to ensure social order and traffic safety and more.
All delegates agreed that their 2017 missions have been accomplished with good results. Then they scheduled to continue providing advice to the Party, the State, the CMC and the Ministry of National Defense on military-defense missions, contributing to promptly dealing with unexpected situations and firmly protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Speaking at the conference, General Cuong acknowledged and praised the unit’s task achievements over the past year. He asked the service’s Party committee and military command to continue embracing guidelines and resolutions of higher levels, forecasting and grasping all situations, and improving combat readiness capability, contributing to meeting task requirements in any circumstances.

* The same day, the Party Committee of Military Region 3 held a similar event to review last year’s task performance and deliver the CMC’s resolutions on implementing military-defense missions and building the army’s Party organizations in 2018. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the CMC, and Deputy Defense Minister, attended and delivered a speech at the event.
According to the central report of the conference, the military region embraced higher levels’ resolutions and directives on military-defense missions as well as collaborated with local authorities to build strong defensive areas and promote gratitude activities.
Delivering a speech at the event, General Vinh highly valued contributions and efforts of the military region’s Party committee in 2017, contributing to maintaining political stability and peaceful environment for local social-economic development. He also urged the unit to continue to provide timely advice to the CMC and the Ministry of National Defense on local military-defense missions, upholding the local armed forces’ combat readiness, contributing to meeting tasks’ requirements in the current context.
* The Party Committee of the Signal Corps reviewed their military-defense missions at a conference held on Dec. 25 in the presence of Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy-Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.
Delegates taking part in the event reviewed their achieved results over the past year and rolled out the 2018 missions.
Addressing the event, General Can required the unit’s Party Committee to embrace senior levels’ resolutions and directives, develop high-quality human resource, and build a modern military communication system.
* The Party Committee of Military Region 1 also held a year-end conference on December 25 in the presence of Lieutenant General Ta Nhan, Deputy-Permanent Director of the Inspection Committee of the Central Military Commission.
The military region’s Party Committee directed its affiliated Party organizations to fulfill their missions and build a strong defensive area.
In 2018, the committee planned to continue focusing on building regularity and observing disciplines, contributing to improving the combat strength of Party organizations and accomplishing their assigned tasks.
