Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang presents MND gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers.

Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang chaired and spoke at the meeting. The event was also attended by Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs General Luong Cuong, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, members of the Party Central Committee, CMC, leaders of ministries and central agencies, heroic Vietnamese mothers and 150 national contributors and martyrs’ relatives who are studying and working at agencies and units in the whole military.

At the event, delegates together recalled the birth of the Wounded and Fallen Soldiers' Day. Over the past 75 years, July has become the month for the Party, the people and the military to conduct practical and significant activities to take care of wounded and sick soldiers, families of fallen soldiers and national contributors.

Over the past time, under the leadership and direction of the Party and State, policy work and gratitude movement have been effectively carried out by agencies and localities at all levels, and the whole  country. Thoroughly embracing the guidelines and directives of the Party, CMC, and MND, the whole military has comprehensively and synchronously carried out policies for troops and their relatives and gratitude activities, contributed to raising the material and spiritual life of troops, policy beneficiaries and national contributors. Activities demonstrate sentiment, responsibility, and deep gratitude of troops in the whole military to former generations’ contribution to and sacrifices for national independence and freedom.

On behalf of 150 national contributors and martyrs’ relatives working in the military, Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Phuc, who is a wounded soldier working at Naval Region 4, thanked the Party, State, CMC, MND’s leaders and leaders of naval units for caring and creating favorable conditions for policy beneficiaries to work, contribute and develop.

On the occasion, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam handed over certificates to martyrs’ relatives in recognition of fallen soldiers’ contribution to the nation. Defense Minister Phan Van Giang and Vo Thi Anh Xuan handed over the MND’s gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers and relatives of five fallen soldiers.  

At the event, General Phan Van Giang and General Luong Cuong presented MND’s certificates and gifts to individuals with outstanding contribution to military building, defense consolidation and national defense.
