Chief of General Staff chairs conference on duty handover of MR4 commander
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, chaired a conference on the handover of duty of commander of Military Region 4 (MR4) in Vinh city on November 29.

Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong congratulated Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh for completing his missions as MR4 Commander and receiving Decision No.1446/QD-TTg issued by the Prime Minister to become the new Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong required Major General Ha Tho Binh, who assumes the duty of Commander of MR4, to continue promoting outcomes of the region’s armed forces and providing timely advice for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to lead the military region to fulfill all assigned missions.

He urged the officer to seriously implement resolutions of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on military-defense affairs, actively build concrete measures to cope with natural disasters and implement search and rescue tasks.
The chief of the General Staff hoped that the military region’s party committee and chain-of-command will continue to promote resounding traditions of the region’s armed forces, collaborate well with local authorities to build whole-people defense posture in line with the people’s security posture and firm defensive areas.
He asked the military region to enhance defense external affairs while taking care of troops’ physical and spiritual life, contributing to improving combined strength of the military region’s armed forces and fulfilling all missions assigned by the Party, the State, military, and people.
