Duty handover ceremony held between DEW’s former and new directors
PANO - Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff (GS) of the Vietnam People’s Army, on May 31 chaired a duty handover ceremony for former and new directors of the Department of Electronic Warfare (DEW), a GS affiliate.

At the event, Lt. Gen. Pham Huy Dung, former DEW director, handed over to Major General Nguyen Long Bien, who was DEW Deputy Director, the duties and authority of the DEW director, the organization, staffing, numbers of troops, materiel, finance and all working aspects of the department.
In his speech, Gen. Thang acknowledged and applauded Gen. Dung’s dedication, enthusiasm, high sense of responsibility, and close coordination with other leaders of the department to lead the department to outstandingly complete all assigned missions.
The GS deputy chief asked Maj. Gen. Nguyen Long Bien to quickly direct all working aspects of the unit, carry out electronic warfare work closely following the leadership and direction of the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Staff.
The new DEW director was also urged to uphold the spirit of solidarity, unity, principles, and concentrate on building typical and exemplary, comprehensively-strong department and excellently fulfilling all tasks.
