He spoke highly of the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Da Nang Municipal Military Command for their thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the Central Military Commission’s directive on the military’s participation in the election and other higher-level documents on combat readiness tasks to safeguard the election.

Up to now, polling areas have been arranged; lists of voters and candidates have been publicly posted in accordance with regulations in a formal manner. Logistics and technical documents ensuring combat readiness have been reviewed, supplemented, and completed in a timely manner while reserves of ammunition and logistics supplies have been maintained in accordance with regulations.

To successfully accomplish the task of combat readiness in safeguarding the election, Gen. Son requested the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Da Nang Municipal Military Command to continue thoroughly implementing higher-level directives, plans, and guidance regarding combat readiness for election security. They were also instructed to strengthen inspection and supervision by commanders at all levels, with particular attention to patrols and guard duties to ensure absolute safety for agencies and units.

They were also urged to review, adjust, and promptly supplement contents of combat readiness plans for election security in line with realities, especially newly-arising issues. Moreover, they should coordinate and implement effective measures to counter unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations and other airborne means to ensure absolute safety for the election. Additionally, comprehensive measures must be implemented to manage and protect the border, sea, and islands. Control should be strengthened to promptly detect and prevent illegal cross-border infiltration.

They should also grasp troops’ thought, especially that of recruits; strengthen internal political protection; intensify information dissemination activities about the election; and ensure absolute safety for personnel, weapons and technical equipment before, during, and after the election.
