In his speech, Senior Colonel Pham Anh Tuan, Director of Factory Z176, noted that Workshop T606, the factory's predecessor, was established on March 9, 1971, to meet urgent battlefield demands.

Post-reunification, the factory pivoted to peacetime tasks, focusing on organizational stability, war recovery, and defense missions. From its rudimentary beginnings, Z176 has evolved into a defense facility characterized by scientific planning, strict safety procedures, and high product quality, consistently prepared for urgent, complex assignments.

From 1986 to 2000, Factory Z176 underwent a breakthrough renewal involving management reforms, production line investment, and market expansion. This phase established initial export capacity and solidified the integration of defense tasks with economic development.

Entering the 21st century, the factory faced dual requirements: expanding economic production and international integration while enhancing research and manufacturing for modern warfare defense products. Defense remains the core mission; Z176 has mastered technologies for camouflage, deception materials, and specialized garments essential for modern combat.

Recently, the factory maintained an annual growth rate exceeding 14%. In 2025, total revenue reached VND 3.552 trillion, including USD 112 million in exports, reflecting resilient, modern management.

Moving forward, Z176 aims to enhance defense R&D, invest in modern warfare equipment, and promote digital and green transitions. The factory will focus on management quality, employee well-being, and its social responsibilities as a military enterprise.

At the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam affirmed that Z176 personnel have consistently upheld the qualities of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers.” Through innovation and technological mastery, they have significantly contributed to national liberation and the safeguarding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

To fulfill future tasks, he emphasized that Factory Z176 must prioritize implementing guidelines from the Party, State, and military on defense industry development. The factory should promote innovation, master advanced technologies, and accelerate digital transformation to enhance governance and produce high-tech defense goods.

Additionally, the factory must maintain its role as a military productive force through safe, lawful, and efficient operations. It should integrate economic development with national defense, promote green production, and maximize equipment efficiency to develop modern, dual-use products.

It should also focus on building a dedicated, responsible, and exemplary workforce while strengthening Party organizations at all levels in conjunction with building a comprehensively strong factory that serves as a model unit.

On this occasion, authorized by the State President, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam presented the First-class Fatherland Protection Order to Factory Z176.
