They regularly undertook patrols and immigration control, especially in detecting illegal crossings and managing the number of foreigners who come from epidemic affected areas passing the border gates. In addition, they collaborated with local authorities to enhance information dissemination on epidemic prevention.
Up to now, the border guard units have set up 25 quarantine areas, which can accommodate over 8,500 people. The units along the shared borderline with Cambodia deployed 208 control teams with the participation of 1,100 troops.
Speaking at the meeting, General Chien requested all relevant units to improve information dissemination for troops and locals, build specific plans to protect the border area and set up the steering committees for the epidemic at all localities.
On the other hand, he urged them to seriously implement disinfection procedures, maintain border patrols, prevent illegal immigration, and ensure security in the border area.
The Border Guard Commander also asked all units to fight wrongful viewpoints on the internet and to prepare for the upcoming Party congresses at all levels.
