Artillery Brigade 40 marks its founding anniversary
PANO – Artillery Brigade 40 under the Army Corps 3 held a ceremony on February 5 to celebrate its 50th founding anniversary and receive the second-class Fatherland Protection Order.
General Ngo Xuan Lich, Defense Ministry sent a bouquet of flowers to congratulate the unit on its anniversary. The ceremony also saw the participation of Major General Vu Van Sy – Commander of the Corps, former senior leaders and troops of the brigade, and representatives from local authorities in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces.
At the ceremony, participants recalled the unit's achievements and traditions over the past years. The brigade was formed on February 5, 1967 in Dak Plo commune, Dak Glei district, Kon Tum province, with key missions of annihilating the enemies and destroying enemies' big defensive areas.
Over the past 50 years of building, fighting and development, the brigade was awarded the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces,” four Military Exploit Orders and other noble orders of the Party and the State, and emulation flags of Gia Lai province. Especially, the unit received the third-class Fatherland Protection Order on February 5, 2012.
At the ceremony, authorised by the State President, Gen. Sy handed over the noble order to the brigade for its achievements in the period of 2011-2016.
