At the ceremony, delegates recalled the 60-year tradition and achievements of the Army Officer Candidate School No.2. In particular, over the past six decades, the school has trained and graduated more than 73,000 officers for the military. Among them, many have become generals and key leaders of units in the whole military.

In the academic year 2020-2021, the school adjusted its training programs to be suitable with the current situation of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the year, the unit sent more than 3,000 instructors and students to support COVID-19 prevention and control in the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City. Their efforts have been highly appreciated by the localities' Party committees, authorities, and people.

Speaking at the event, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan praised and congratulated the Army Officer Candidate School No.2 on its achievements over the past 60 years. She asked the school to continue embracing resolutions and directives on education and training, military, defense and national defense missions, renewing learning and training methods, and applying modern science and technology to gradually approaching smart school models.

She urged the school to train a contingent of officers who have firm political stance and combat and command competence. They must be exemplary servicemembers in observing military discipline and practice a healthy lifestyle.
