After graduating from high school, she studied at the Department of Radioelectronics in the Military Technical Academy. At that time, her family was afraid that Huyen could not stand the pressure of the military environment. Moreover, her major in electronics might not be suitable for a woman like Huyen. However, in 2011, she graduated from the academy as the valedictorian, proving her right decision for the military career.
She was then assigned to Institute 10 right after her graduation. Thanks to her wholeheartedness and efforts, a year later, she was sent to the unit’s Ho Chi Minh City branch. In each position, she always tried her best to both fulfill assigned tasks and keep studying to further raise her competence.
In late 2012, Huyen received a full scholarship for a dual master and PhD program at Inha University in the Republic of Korea. She came home with an excellent doctorate degree. Then, she was promoted to Head of the Division for Automated Command Systems, Institute 10, Command 86. When she was just 31 years old, she became one of the only two female officers holding leadership positions within Command 86.
Well educated both at home and abroad, together with her high responsibility, Huyen is always a pioneer in implementing difficult tasks of the unit. Currently, she has partaken in many works, projects, and products at different levels which have been honored with many noble prizes and brought practical values.
In acknowledgement of her efforts, in August 8, 2022, she was promoted to be Director of Institute 10. In the new position, she has gradually shown her professionalism and leadership ability. Major Pham Thi Huyen always grasps situation and promotes her leadership to help the institute’s members carry out difficult tasks.
