The Mission Force Commander of EUTM RCA presents the plaque to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thai Son.

The ceremony was held on the occasion of Europe Day (May 9), marking the 76th anniversary of the “Schuman Declaration,” a historic proposal introduced in 1950 by French Minister for Foreign Affairs Robert Schuman, which laid the foundation for European cooperation and ushered in a new era of peace, integration, and democratic cooperation in Europe.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thai Son expressed his appreciation for the recognition from the mission’s leadership, as well as from units and forces of participating countries for the close coordination and effective assistance provided by Vietnamese officers serving at EUTM RCA over the past period.

This marks the third time Vietnam has sent officers to EUTM RCA. Mission leaders highly appreciated the Vietnamese officers for actively learning from international colleagues, confidently demonstrating their professional competence and qualities, and helping promote the positive images of the Vietnam People’s Army, “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers,” and the Vietnamese people to international friends and the host nation. The officers’ contributions have further affirmed Vietnam’s international prestige and capabilities in U.N. peacekeeping operations as well as enhanced defense diplomacy of the Vietnam People’s Army.
