The events brought together hospital staff, international organizations, military medical personnel from units stationed in the area, local healthcare workers, and members of the local community.
The activities not only marked two important international observances for the nursing and midwifery professions, but also highlighted the Vietnamese military medical force’s commitment to community engagement and support for local healthcare services in South Sudan.

As part of the program, the hospital donated nearly 1,000 sterile surgical gauzes along with infection prevention supplies and equipment, including gloves, face masks, medical waste bags, hand sanitizer, and decorative materials to the South Sudan Nurses and Midwives Association. The donations reflected the support and solidarity of the Vietnamese peacekeeping medical force with local healthcare workers serving residents in Bentiu.
A key event in the program was the celebration ceremony held at Bentiu General Hospital. Early in the morning, healthcare workers, students, international organizations, and local residents joined a parade aimed at raising awareness about the role of nurses and midwives in public healthcare.

In addition, the hospital supported event preparations and donated personal hygiene kits to female secondary school students in Bentiu, contributing to greater awareness of school health and personal hygiene among local girls.
The unit also coordinated to carry out HIV/AIDS counseling and testing for approximately 100 local residents at Bentiu General Hospital to help improve community awareness of disease prevention and control.
Representatives from international organizations, including the World Health Organization, United Nations Population Fund, Médecins Sans Frontières, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, and UNMISS recognized the important contributions of nurses and midwives to community healthcare, especially in challenging environments such as South Sudan.
