The delegation of young officers from the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), led by Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Director of the Military Youth Advisory Board, participated in a wide range of activities under the framework of the exchange. These activities helped strengthen the traditional solidarity and friendship, enhance mutual understanding and trust between the younger generations of the two militaries, and further deepen the Vietnam - Cambodia defense cooperation in a more substantive and effective manner.
One of the most significant highlights of the exchange program in Cambodia was the talks and exchange between young officers of the VPA and their counterparts from Cambodia. Young officers from both sides discussed a wide range of topics, including unit building, traditional education, political and ideological development, improving training quality, applying science and technology, and promoting the pioneering role of military youth in carrying out military and defense tasks.
During the working trip, the delegation also paid visits to and held exchanges with the Royal Cambodian Army Headquarters, the Special Forces Command, Brigade 70, the Special Military Region, Military Region 3, and other military units. At each unit, the delegation toured halls of fame and learned about their history, development, combat achievements, organizational structures, and assigned missions.
As part of the program, the delegation also participated in various cultural and sports exchanges and activities to learn about Cambodia's history, culture, and people. The friendly interactions enabled young officers from both countries to strengthen their bonds, exchange professional and life experiences, and further promote the spirit of solidarity and friendship between the armed forces and peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.
With its practical activities, the Vietnam - Cambodia young officer exchange program 2026 once again affirmed its role as an important bridge connecting the younger generations of the two militaries, contributing to consolidating bilateral defense cooperation, strengthening the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two countries, and working together toward a region of peace, stability, cooperation, and development.
