The live-sea drills involve naval vessels from eight ASEAN member states and the United States.

The live-sea phase is conducted from December 12 to 13, featuring various operational contents, including formation maneuvering with aerial photography, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), search and rescue (SAR), underway replenishment maneuvers, damage control and ship survivability drills, night formation maneuvering, and saluting each other at sea.

AUMX-2 is not merely a naval exercise, but also an important platform for participating navies to build trust and mutual understanding, share professional knowledge, and enhance interoperability. Through this exercise, participating countries reaffirm their shared commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Vietnam’s participation in all contents of the second ASEAN–U.S. Maritime Exercise aims to improve the command-and-management capability, coordination skills, professional competence, and technical proficiency of its officers and sailors, while accumulating valuable experience for future participation in international cooperation activities.
