Continuing the exchange program, officers and crew-members of the Vietnam People’s Navy visited Ship 627-Enshi of the PLA Navy’s South Sea Fleet. Conversely, the Chinese naval delegation toured Ship 015-Tran Hung Dao of Brigade 162, Naval Region 4 of the Vietnam People’s Navy.

These tours enabled both naval forces to better understand each other’s living, studying, and working environments. The visits also provided a platform to exchange professional expertise and maritime experience regarding technical assurance, incident handling, and ship management, thereby boosting coordination for joint search and rescue or humanitarian assistance missions.

Commander Le Gia Vuong, Deputy Captain of Ship 015-Tran Hung Dao, noted that the visit yielded valuable lessons in organization, management, and weapon maintenance. The officer added that the Vietnamese naval force could learn from their counterparts’ strengths to apply to their own unit.

On the same day, the Vietnam People’s Navy delegation participated in sports exchanges with the PLA Navy. Officers and crew-members from both countries competed in tug-of-war, pulling line throwing, and knot tying. The open and friendly atmosphere fostered by these activities helped tighten solidarity and the robust friendship between the two navies. Previously, the two sides also held a welcoming ceremony and paid courtesy calls.

Assessing the trip, Senior Captain Bui Van Ben, Political Chief of the Naval Region 4 Command, stated that the unit’s recent defense diplomacy has been implemented actively, comprehensively, and effectively. The activities not only improve the professionalism and steadfastness of the personnel but also bolster the international prestige of the Vietnam People’s Navy while enhancing cooperation with regional and global naval forces.
