Speaking at the reception, Czech Ambassador to Viet Nam Lukas Kaucky highlighted the longstanding friendship between the Czech Republic and Viet Nam, which has been nurtured since the early 1950s. The Czech Republic has consistently worked to promote and deepen multifaceted cooperation with Viet Nam. The elevation of bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership last year, the launch of the first direct air route between Ha Noi and Prague two weeks ago, and the planned official visit to Viet Nam by the Czech Prime Minister in December are expected to give fresh momentum to bilateral relations.

Ambassador Lukas Kaucky noted that 2026 marks 70 years since the first 100 Vietnamese children, known as the “Chrastava children,” arrived in the Czech Republic. This event laid the foundation for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and contributed to the development of the unique bonds between the two countries and peoples.
