During the talk, the two countries’ young military officers voiced their opinions to propose effective measures and models to boost youth work in the two militaries and accelerate bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields to further cultivate the relationship between the two nations.

Addressing the event, Senior Colonel Tran Viet Nang shared views on military-defense cooperation between Vietnam and Laos and informed delegates on developments of the Military Youth Advisory Board’s functions, tasks and relations.

Regarding the youth work over the past time, Colonel Nang affirmed the two sides have achieved positive outcomes, with many exchanges of young military officers. Additionally, the Military Youth Advisory Board and the Youth Affairs Office of the Lao People’s Army organized refresher courses to exchange professional expertise for Lao officers, focusing on organization, skills and experience in youth affairs.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Hong Thong Sisanon briefed delegates on the organizational structure and operation of the Lao People's Army Youth Union and its activities over the past time.

Also, he underlined that coordination activities between the two countries’ militaries and military youth demonstrated the Vietnam-Laos special solidarity and traditional friendship. Through refresher courses in Vietnam, young officers of the Lao People’s Army have broadened their knowledge and improved their specialized skills.
Meanwhile, Colonel Sisanon offered several suggestions, including adding more specialized documents related to youth work during refresher courses and conducting more field trips for Lao young officers to Hanoi and other provinces and cities in Vietnam.
