Vietnamese, Laos defense trade unions exchange experience

The event was part of the activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam – Laos diplomatic ties and the Vietnam – Laos Friendship Years 2022.

The event was attended by Deputy Political Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Senior Colonel Hoang Van Tiep, Deputy Head of Defense Trade Union under the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Loi, and Deputy Head of the Trade Union of the Lao People's Army Lieutenant Colonel Noudam Soulixay.

The activity aimed to strengthen solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding between the two units. It was also to enhance trade union officials’ awareness and capability of giving advice on trade union activities and workers’ movement to higher levels, contributing to well completing assigned tasks.

At the event, the two sides briefed each other on outstanding achievements, effective models, and good experience in conducting trade union activities and workers’ movements. They also proposed approaches to raise the effectiveness of trade union activities and workers’ movements in the coming time.

An overview of the event

The two sides agreed to request heads of the General Departments of Political Affairs and the Defense Trade Unions of the two militaries to create favorable conditions for defense trade unions of the two countries to foster exchange activities and seminars, contributing to preserving, consolidating, and developing the special friendship between the parties, states, militaries and people of Vietnam and Laos.
