Vietnamese, Lao border guard units conduct joint patrol
PANO - Ngoc Lam Border Post under the Border Guard Command of Vietnam’s Nghe An province and Border Company 252 under the Military Command of Laos’ Bolykhamxay province held a joint patrol on September 1.

The Vietnamese and Lao border guards checked the status quo of border marker 455 on the Vietnam - Laos borderline, which is some 1,300m above sea level.
They also cleared bushes, tidied up the surrounding of the marker, and exchanged information related to border security protection.
During the patrol, both sides strictly followed the principles, protocols and procedures in external affairs activities.
At the end of the patrol, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding and agreed on the contents for the next patrol.
The joint patrol aimed to promptly detect violations of border regulations, maintain political security, social order and safety along the Vietnam - Laos borderline.
On the occasion, Border Company 252 congratulated and presented gifts to Ngoc Lam Border Post on the 78th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam (September 2).
