Vietnamese and Lao border forces conduct joint patrol
PANO – In order to promote coordination in border management and protection while ensuring political security and order in border areas, the Border Post of La Lay International Border Gate (Quang Tri province, Vietnam) has just conducted a joint patrol session with Border Company 511 under the Laos’ Salavan provincial Military Command.
Despite harsh weather and terrain conditions, the two units were determined to promptly perform the mission as scheduled. Accordingly, they inspected the border area from border markers No.634 to No.635 with a border length of 5km.

During the joint patrol, both sides disseminated information to the two peoples so as to mobilize them to follow the Regulation on border management and other related legal documents.
After the joint patrol, the two units agreed that the shared borderline and national border markers have been maintained while political security and social order in the areas have been ensured.

On the occasion, both units also shared information about security and arising issues in border areas, affirming that they would create favorable conditions for the two peoples as regulated.
They also discussed and mapped out plans for the coming joint patrol activities, and signed a minutes of this time’s joint patrol.
