Vietnamese frigate leaves Cam Ranh for Indonesia
PANO - Frigate 012-Ly Thai To of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 (NR4) with a working mission, led by Senior Captain Nguyen Van Ngan, Deputy Chief of Staff of NR4, on board left Cam Ranh on August 26 for an Indonesia visit.

As envisaged, the mission will pay a courtesy visit to the local authorities and visit Indonesian naval base in Batam. It will host a banquet on the frigate, visit and have cultural and sport exchange with the host navy, and tour local historical and cultural relic sites during its stop.
Attentively, the Vietnamese frigate will have a joint exercise with Indonesian naval ships.

During the long-day voyage, officers and sailors on the 012-Ly Thai To will improve their organization and command capacity, coordination, combat readiness ability, mastery of weapons and other equipment through a training session as well.
According to Senior Captain Nguyen Van Ngan, the visit, exchange, and joint exercise aim to boost exchange, give participating troops a chance to learn from their peers, promote the development of plans on the joint exercise, and handling of contingencies at sea.

The visit is hoped to help strengthen the fruitful friendship, cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the two militaries and navies. It also helps enhance their coordination capability in response to common maritime security challenges, thereby promoting the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Indonesia.
