During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation had working sessions with UNISFA and local authorities, paid visits to the Chinese, Pakistani, and Nigerian units to discuss results of the Vietnamese peacekeeping force at UNISFA, including Vietnam's Engineering Company Rotation 2 and Vietnam's working group at the UNISFA; and shared experience in the preparation and deployment of personnel participating in U.N. peacekeeping operations.

On the occasion, Lt. Gen. Pham Truong Son co-chaired a ceremony to present the medal “For U.N. peacekeeping cause” to members of Vietnam's Engineering Company Rotation 2 and Vietnam's working group at the UNISFA; and visited and handed over gifts to schools where the Vietnamese Engineering Company Rotation 2 is implementing mass mobilization work.

Through the visits, the Vietnamese delegation received high appreciation about the task performance of Vietnam's Engineering Company Rotation 2 and Vietnam's working group at the UNISFA in the context of high workload, harsh weather conditions and security instability in the region. Particularly, the mass mobilization work, together with practical activities, conducted by the Vietnamese peacekeeping force has contributed to beautifying the good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the heart of the government and people in Abyei.
