Vietnamese defense leader encourages foreign troops taking part in April 30 parade
PANO - Deputy Minister of National Defense Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien chaired a meeting held by the Ministry of National Defense on April 29 in Binh Duong province with foreign formations participating in the upcoming April 30 parade.
The Vietnamese defense leader expressed thanks to China, Laos and Cambodia for sending forces to the parade in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025). He confirmed that the grand celebration on April 30 is an extremely important event not only for the Vietnamese people, but also for international friends who stood side-by-side and supported Vietnam in the struggle for national independence.
He said that the three countries’ sending forces to the parade demonstrates the time-honored friendship, solidarity and close-knit ties between the people and military of Vietnam and their counterparts from China, Laos, and Cambodia. It also confirms Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of relations, being a friend and trusted partner of all countries.
Given the parade’s aim to honor wholehearted assistance of international friends to the Vietnamese people’s struggle for national liberation, Gen. Chien believed that the three contingents’ participation in the parade would importantly contribute to the overall success of the ceremony and show the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and each of its three neighbors.
