According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thai Binh, Deputy Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 2, the joint training on search and rescue operations and fire and explosion prevention and fire fighting at sea is one of the important contents of the visit and exchange between the Vietnamese and Philippine Coast Guards.

The event aims to promote cooperation and share experience in performing tasks of security maintenance, law enforcement and situations settlement at sea. This is also an opportunity for troops from both sides to exchange and share experience in search and rescue operations and fire and explosion prevention and fire fighting in a timely and effective manner. The two forces discussed and finalized the training plan with many contents.

Also on August 7, the Vietnam Coast Guard delegation toured the Philippine Coast Guard’s Ship 9702 and was introduced to the ship’s equipment and features. Delegates also visited the Philippine Coast Guard Surveillance Center.
