Refresher course on logistics and financial work opened for Lao military cadres
PANO - The General Department of Logistics and Technical Services (GDLT) and the Military Logistics Academy jointly opened a refresher course on logistics and financial work for cadres from the Lao People’s Army on August 11.
Major General Nguyen Trong Thien, Deputy Chief of the GDLT, chaired the opening ceremony.

During the 45-day course, the Lao trainees will learn about regular logistics work, logistics-related advisory work, and logistics supplies during disaster relief efforts. They will be also provided with basic contents on the organization and missions of the military logistic supply sector, military logistics-related applied science, and assurance of logistics supplies in combat.

Matters on barracks building, supervision and maintenance of construction work, supply of oil and gas for routine missions and combat tasks, maintenance of good technical conditions of machinery and equipment, and military financial estimates will be also studied.
The Lao trainees will have fact-finding trips to some military units as well.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Gen. Thien laid stress on the goal of the course. He hoped that knowledge acquired during the course would be applied in real conditions of units under the Lao People’s Army in the future. These would help boost friendship, solidarity and traditional bond between the peoples, militaries of the two countries and the two military logistics and technical services and financial sectors.

Gen. Thien asked the organizing panel to ensure the effective and safe organization of the course; the instructors to promote responsibility, impart experience to, and create best conditions for the trainees; and the Lao trainees to take advantage of time to study to gain more knowledge for better future task performance.
