In particular, the two delegations met and had exchange with troops of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command. They planted trees at Flotilla 11, presented gifts to needy fishermen, did the cleanup at Mat Rong fishing port in Lap Le commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city, and visited ship CSB 8004. The activities were to spread the message of solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the two forces in particular, militaries and peoples in general.

Vietnamese and Chinese young coast guard officers planted 20 trees along a road leading to Flotilla 11 of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command. According to Deputy Political Commissar and Political Chief of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command Major General Tran Van Xuan, these activities spread the exchange program’s message of joining hands to protect maritime environment. He added that each tree planted is a mark of friendship and solidarity of Vietnamese and Chinese young coast guard officers in particular and the two forces in general and demonstrates the aspiration for the friendship and cooperation between the two nations to last forever.

At Mat Rong fishing port, officers were divided into small groups to collect garbage at the mooring area. On the occasion, the Vietnamese and Chinese officers presented gifts to encourage fishermen to keep heading to the sea to fish.

Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command Senior Colonel Tran Van Hau evaluated that these activities offered an opportunity to Vietnamese and Chinese young coast guard officers to learn about the time-honored friendship and solidarity between the two countries, thus raising their responsibility to uphold and promote the fine traditions through cooperation activities and exchanges to strengthen friendship between the two forces for maritime security, safety, stability, cooperation, and development.

Before the activities, Major General Tran Van Tho, Commander of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command, received the two delegations, during which he emphasized that young officers are the future of the two forces. They will be a bridge to connect and nurture the friendship and solidarity of the two militaries in general and coast guard forces in particular and a bright spot in maritime law enforcement in the region and the world.
