The Vietnamese side was led by Head of the Border Post of Tra Linh International Border Gate of the Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command, while the Chinese delegation was headed by Ning Pengcheng, Head of Baise Border Management Squadron.

An overview of the talks

During the talks, both sides agreed that in the first quarter of 2024, they well coordinated in border management and protection, actively and effectively worked together in the fight against crime. Additionally, the two sides continued to effectively carry out dissemination of legal knowledge to border residents and organized various activities during the Lunar New Year 2024, contributing to strengthening friendship, unity, and solidarity between the two sides.

In the second quarter of 2024, both sides agreed to continue adhering to and strictly implementing the provisions of the three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border and the minutes of meetings of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee. They will strengthen education and dissemination of policies and laws for residents living along the shared borderline, prevent criminal activities, and ensure social order and stability in border areas while preserving the integrity of border landmarks and the direction of the border line.

The two sides will also enhance exchanges and cooperation, regularly maintain dialogues, joint patrols, and other cooperative mechanisms to firmly safeguard territorial sovereignty, national border security, and maintain social order and safety in localities managed by each side.
