The Vietnamese delegation was led by Senior Colonel Nguyen Van An, Commander of the Dak Nong provincial Military Command, and the guests were headed by Major General Khin Meng Sreng, Chief of the sub-region.

At the talks 

Under the MoU, the two sides continue promoting education for local people and armed forces of both provinces to raise their awareness of both countries’ and forces’ policies of cooperation, traditional friendship and solidarity and mutual assistance. This will help preserve and develop relationship of the two countries and two provinces under the motto “Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, sustainable development.”

During the talks in a solidarity and friendship atmosphere, the two delegations reviewed the outcomes of their cooperation and information exchanges in the second half of last year and first quarter of this year.

They also discussed cooperative activities relating to border management, landmark planting and demarcation, assistance to two provinces’ armed forces and people.

They spoke highly of the regular organization of meetings, talks and experience sharing to tighten the two countries’ solidarity and friendship, to defend each country’s territorial sovereignty and border security and to effectively prevent crimes, including illegal border-crossing.
