At the ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Nhu Canh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, reported the results of training and preparation of the L2FH Rotation 2 to the participants.

In preparation, apart from their medical expertise, the medical staff and workers of the hospital were trained in English language and peacekeeping skills both at home and overseas. The training courses covered such subjects as air medevac, response to mass casualty, prevention of epidemic outbreaks, etc. The courses were designed to simulate the conditions of the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). The UN has also asked Vietnam to provide medical aid to South Sudan citizens in certain emergency cases.

General Vinh also asked members of the hospital to stay united, overcome all difficulties, and successfully complete all tasks assigned by Vietnam and the UN.

When in South Sudan, members of the hospital must promote the role of doctors to wholeheartedly cure patients in war-torn areas. They will also closely coordinate with other agencies and forces at UNMISS to best implement their duties, truly becoming messengers of peace and beautifying the image of Vietnam and its people.
