This was an important theoretical training to help staff of Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital No2embrace the UN-standardized operational procedures for running a field hospital as well as their roles and missions in the hospital.

Accordingly, the officers carried out tabletop training contents on the model of the first level-2 field hospital operational at the UN Mission in Bentiu, South Sudan. They went through the whole process of operating a field hospital with different missions, including healthcare and technical and logistic services.

The comprehensive drill is considered an opportunity for Vietnamese officers to learn invaluable field experiences and professional knowledge from17 UK, US and Australian experts in military medicine and UN peacekeeping operations. It is also to evaluate Vietnamese officers’ ability to deal with circumstances, so as to have suitable methods to raise their professional competence and skills to fulfill all assigned missions when they take over the duties of the first Level-2 Field Hospital of Vietnam in Bentiu, South Sudan in October.

Here are several photos of the exercise.
