Previously, classrooms at Minyang Primary School were severely damaged and unroofed by harsh weather. Students studied in extremely poor conditions, sitting on the dirt floor due to a lack of furniture, or studying under trees due to unsafe, dilapidated classrooms.

Sharing these difficulties, Vietnam’s Engineering Unit Rotation 4 deployed personnel and equipment to repair a four-classroom building and build 60 new sets of wooden desks and chairs. The unit also provided boards and school supplies, ensuring basic learning conditions for the students.

At the ceremony, UNISFA Deputy Force Commander Brigadier General Adebowale Oladimeji Ajiagbe noted that the project’s completion by Engineering Unit Rotation 4 demonstrated the responsibility of Vietnamese soldiers. He praised the Vietnamese force for not only supporting infrastructure but also helping build a foundation for peace and a sustainable future in Abyei.
