Vietnam participates in ACDFM-18
PANO – Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam chaired a meeting on March 17 in Hanoi to check preparations for Vietnam’s participation in 18th ASEAN Chiefs of Defense Forces' Meeting (ACDFM-18).

At the event, relevant agencies and units briefed General Nam on their preparations for the event, affirming that all preparations have been completed.
Speaking at the meeting, General Nam praised and highly appreciated relevant units’ and agencies’ pro-activeness in preparing for the event.
Nam said that although Vietnam had experiences in hosting ASEAN defense and military activities and conferences, the country should carefully prepare for the ACDFM-18.
He urged relevant units and agencies to thoroughly prepare contents and technical facilities for the event, while promoting information dissemination about the event and seriously following COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control regulations to contribute to the success of the event.
Nam emphasized that Vietnam’s active participation in the event will demonstrate its commitment and pro-activeness in joining ASEAN defense and military events as a responsible member of the ASEAN community.
By making good preparation for the event, Vietnam shows its strong support for Brunei’s ASEAN chairmanship 2021, while the country’s attendance will contribute to promoting practical defense cooperation among ASEAN member states in the framework of the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM).
ACDFM is an annual activity in the framework of defense and military cooperation among ASEAN member states. This year, the 18th edition will be held by Brunei.
