At the event, delegates discussed and agreed on the agenda for the 17th ASEAN Chiefs of Defense Forces Meeting (ACDFM-17). According to the plan, the ACDFM-17 will focus on reviewing the results of the 17th ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting and the 10th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting.

Lieutenant General Vu Chien Thang speaks at the meeting.

Delegates from ASEAN member countries will also exchange views on regional security challenges of common concern and propose approaches to promoting cooperation in a practical manner and strengthen intra-block solidarity to effectively respond to challenges.

In addition, the meeting also reviewed the two-year operation plan of ASEAN militaries and the draft Joint Declaration of the ACDFM-17. These important documents will be approved at the ACDFM-17 to serve as a basis for ASEAN militaries to promote their cooperation in the coming time.

Speaking at the event, General Thang believed that with the thorough preparation and close coordination among ASEAN member nations, the ACDFM-17 will be a success, contributing to strengthening cooperation among ASEAN militaries and ensuring a peaceful and stable environment in the region.

The ACDFM is the highest military cooperation mechanism of ASEAN countries in implementing military cooperation activities in ASEAN on the basis of the results of the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting. This will be the second time that Vietnam will have hosted the meeting.
