General Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister, made that statement at a reception given to outgoing and incoming RoK defense attachés to Vietnam on July 26 at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.

The host also acknowledged and highly valued active contributions of Colonel Chung Yeon Chang, the outgoing RoK defense attaché, to the bilateral defense ties during his term.

Welcoming Colonel Ryou Jae-Guen, the incoming RoK defense attaché, he hoped that the newly-appointed officer will continue bringing into full play his predecessor’s achievements in order to further develop the bilateral defense cooperation.

The Vietnamese general also affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense will create all favorable conditions for Colonel Ryou Jae-Guen to fulfill his mission.

For his part, the outgoing defense attaché stressed the flourishing development of the two countries’ defense ties and believed that the ties will develop more intensively and practically in the time to come. Meanwhile, the incoming defense attaché expressed his delight to undertake the new post in Vietnam and confirmed that in his post, he will try his best to contribute to furthering the development of the bilateral defense ties.
