During the patrol, the two sides worked together to protect the marine environment and prevent illegal fishing. They also collaborated to prevent and suppress acts of piracy, smuggling, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration.

The joint maritime patrol between Vietnamese and Thai naval forces aimed to ensure security and order at the shared maritime border of the two countries, promote cooperation and mutual understanding and trust between the two navies, as well as create favorable conditions for fishermen to fish in the designated areas.
