During the program, both sides’ groups of naval ships implemented six joint patrol sessions along the distance of over 400 nautical miles. They performed a greeting ceremony (Hello ASEAN), regularly held between ships of ASEAN’s navies often do, and other relevant procedures according to the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES). Additionally, they also collaborated to carry out a search and rescue exercise at sea and several other contents agreed by the two countries.

The success of the 37th joint maritime patrol is expected to strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the two armed forces and navies, contributing to maintaining peace and stability for both countries’ ships operating at sea.

After the patrol, the Vietnamese group of naval ships followed the Thai counterparts to Songkhla Port, beginning an official visit to the Royal Thai Navy from April 22 to 25.

The People’s Army Newspaper would like to introduce some images of the program.
