UN delegation highly values Vietnamese military hospital’s activeness
PANO - The United Nations peacekeeping force always feels secured and believes in the high sense of responsibility of Vietnam’s peacekeeping forces, especially proactive preparations of Military Hospital 175, said Ms. Bianca Selway, head delegate of the UN Assessment and Advisory Visiting (AAV) delegation.
Ms. Bianca Selway, who is also a representative of the UN Department for Peacekeeping Operations and the UN Department of Field Support, on June 29 had a working session with the hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, she affirmed that the UN delegation is willing to share operation standards and experience on level-2 field hospital with Vietnam, so that the hospital could meet requirements of the UN missions in the coming time.
The delegation also hoped to have more opportunities to cooperate and learn experience from the Vietnam People’s Army, especially in military medicine.
On behalf of the military hospital, the hospital’s director, Major General Nguyen Hong Son, briefed the guests on the hospital’s functions, missions and operations. He emphasized that the hospital considered the deployment of level-2 field hospital a special and important task that demonstrates Vietnam’s prestige and responsibility for the world’s peacekeeping operations.
He hoped that the field hospital’s staff will gain more knowledge during the UN delegation’s visit to be able to undertake UN missions in the second quarter of next year.
Later, the UN delegation conducted a fact-finding trip to Military Hospital 175’s level-2 field hospital, exchanged experience on the field and pointed out some orientations and issues need to be addressed to better the hospital.
