Addressing the event, General Huong said that the training course aimed to equip peacekeeping officers with required knowledge to ensure Vietnam’s effective participation in UN peacekeeping operations, contributing to implementing policies in cooperation and development, becoming a trustworthy partner and responsible member of the international community.

The event will last till July 7 with the participation of 24 trainees, including those who work as planning and management staff related to preparations for the deployment of Vietnamese units and officers to UN peacekeeping missions and those who will join UN peacekeeping operations in the coming time as staff officers. Among the 24 course-participants are six Cambodian, Indonesian and Mongolian trainees.

During the course, trainees will be provided with staff knowledge, expertise and experiences to effectively join UN peacekeeping operations in the time to come. The course helps raise the officers’ professionalism and Vietnam become qualified for international training courses on UN peacekeeping operations.
