Talks held between Vietnamese and Chinese border units
PANO – On April 10, at Sam Pun Border Gate, the first quarterly talks of 2026 took place between delegations from the Son Vi Border Station and the Border Station of Sam Pun Border Gate under Vietnam’s Tuyen Quang Provincial Border Guard Command, and representatives from the Heping and Tianpeng Sub-stations under China’s Tianbao Immigration Border Inspection Station.
During the first quarter of 2026, both sides strictly implemented the three legal documents on the Vietnam - China land border, as well as bilateral agreements on border and border gate management. They maintained close coordination in managing and protecting the border, ensuring security and order, and effectively organizing joint law enforcement patrols along the borderline.
The two sides also worked together to disseminate legal knowledge to border residents, facilitating cross-border visits, trade exchanges, and import-export activities.

The talks were conducted in a frank, friendly, and constructive atmosphere. Both sides highly appreciated the outcomes of their coordination in border management, protection, and crime prevention, while continuing to exchange relevant information.

In the spirit of solidarity, friendship, and cooperation, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strictly maintaining and implementing legal frameworks governing the Vietnam - China land border, as well as high-level border guard cooperation agreements and minutes of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee's meetings. They also agreed to further strengthen coordination in patrols and control of borderlines and markers, promptly notify each other of arising issues, and contribute to maintaining stability, security, and order in border and border gate areas.
