During the three-day program, troops from the province’s armed forces and representatives from the provincial departments, agencies, sectors, organizations will focus on disseminating the traditions and cultural beauties of the Khmer people's traditional New Year festival and the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws; building houses; presenting scholarships and bicycles to needy children with good academic results; providing health examination; visiting and giving gifts to policy households and families in difficult circumstances; constructing bridges and rural roads and installing electric systems.

In addition to that, the mission will organize cake making competitions, a football tournament, an artistic event, and a “Zero VND stall” program. The organizing panel will display OCOP (one commune, one product) products and hold meetings with retired officials from different periods and civil servants and troops who are Khmer people.

Speaking at the event, Political Commissar of the Soc Trang provincial Military Command Senior Colonel Do Tien Sy emphasized that the military-civilian program to mark the Chol Chnam Thmay festival is a practical activity, demonstrating solidarity among communities. It contributes to strengthening solidarity between troops and people and enriching tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the Fatherland construction and defense cause.
