According to the plan, from April 10 to 19, the ship formation of Vietnam People’s Navy will maneuver into Beihai Military Port in Guangxi province, China. The Vietnamese delegation will attend a welcome ceremony, participate in sports exchanges; and conduct the 38th joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin and joint search and rescue drill at sea. During the event, the two delegations will visit each other’s ships.

During the voyage, Ships 015 and 016’s crew-members will conduct training to enhance coordination and command capabilities, operational proficiency, mastery of weapons and equipment, and the ability to respond to maritime situations; and reconnaissance to evaluate the situation at sea.

According to the schedule, in Guangxi, the commanding officers of ships of both sides will report the Ministers of National Defense of the two countries on the preparations for the joint patrol and receive orders to commence the mission via video conference.

The 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, which includes the participation of Ships 015 and 016 and the Vietnamese naval delegation in exchange activities and joint patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin, aims to strengthen the cooperation between the two militaries and two navies in a more substantive manner.
