CSB 8004 arriving at the port |
During the working trip to Japan, the Vietnam Coast Guard carried out various activities, including courtesy calls on local authorities and Japan Coast Guard leaders; exchanges and experience sharing with the Japan Coast Guard’s Region 7; joint search and rescue drills at sea; visits to local cultural sites; and participation in banquets hosted by both sides.
These activities contributed to elevating the Coast Guard’s external affairs to a new level, concretizing the foreign defense policy of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense; and effectively implementing the foreign policy of the Party and State, thereby contributing to safeguarding the Fatherland early and from afar in the new context.
This is the third long-distance mission undertaken by the CSB 8004. The ship traveled nearly 4,600 nautical miles on the round trip, navigating through several maritime areas affected by storms and low-pressure systems. Despite significant challenges, the officers and crew remained united and determined, successfully completing their mission and ensuring absolute safety.
Speaking at the welcome ceremony, Commander of Coast Guard Region 1 Major General Tran Van Tho commended the delegation aboard CSB 8004 for their efforts, sense of responsibility, and pro-active approach in overcoming difficulties. Despite complex weather conditions and operations in distant waters, the delegation remained cohesive and performed their duties excellently, meeting all objectives and requirements.
He urged the delegation members to conduct thorough maintenance and inspection of machinery and equipment and prepare for upcoming tasks upon order.
