Ship 17 leaves Lumut Naval Base, concluding visit to Malaysia
PANO - On the afternoon of February 5, Ship 17 of Brigade 171, Naval Region 2, together with a delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy, led by Senior Captain Le Dinh Nghi, Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 2, left Lumut Naval Base, concluding the friendly visit and exchange with the Royal Malaysian Navy.
The farewell ceremony, held solemnly at Lumut Naval Base, was presided over by Capt. Murthi Subromoniam, Head of the Operations Department of the Western Fleet, the Royal Malaysian Navy. Attending the event were commanding officers and sailors at Lumut Naval Base.
Before leaving the base, officers and sailors of Ship 17 conducted maintenance and service of technical equipment, replenished fuel and fresh water, and thoroughly prepared the ship to continue its long-duration voyage at sea.
After the visit to and exchange with the Royal Malaysian Navy, Ship 17 and the Vietnamese naval delegation will continue their voyage to participate in the Multilateral Naval Exercise MILAN 2026 in India.
Ship 17 and the delegation are expected to arrive in Visakhapatnam, India, the host city of MILAN 2026, on February 12.
