Ship 17 arrives at Lumut port, begins visit to Malaysia
PANO - On the morning of February 2, Ship 17 of Brigade 171 (Naval Region 2) and a Vietnam People’s Navy delegation led by Senior Captain Le Dinh Nghi, Deputy Chief of the Staff of Naval Region 2, arrived at the port of Lumut Naval Base, starting a visit to Malaysia.
The welcoming ceremony was held at the military port in accordance with military protocol, presided over by Naval Captain Murthi Subromoniam, Head of the Operations Division under the Western Fleet of the Royal Malaysian Navy. Also attending the ceremony were Senior Colonel Vu Hoang Nam, Vietnamese Defense Attaché to Malaysia, along with captains and sailors of the Lumut Naval Base.
Following the ceremony, representatives of the Royal Malaysian Navy visited Ship 17 to discuss and agree upon the agenda for the visit.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese naval delegation will pay courtesy calls on leaders of the Western Fleet and Lumut Naval Base, visit each other’s ships, engage in sports exchanges, and tour several local landmarks.
These activities aim to enhance cooperation relations, mutual understanding, and trust between the militaries and navies of Vietnam and Malaysia for peace, stability, and mutual development.
