Welcoming Major General Khamlek Sengphachan and the Lao delegation, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, who is a member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff, and Deputy Minister of National Defense, emphasized the significance of the visit which took place after the successful trip of the Lao Defense Minister to Vietnam from December 7 to 8.
He said that the visit was a practical activity, concretizing the common perception of the two ministers and contributing to deepening the "Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022."
Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong affirmed that senior leaders of the two countries always attach great importance to preserving and consolidating the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos and want to further strengthen the good bilateral relationship. The Chief of the General Staff stated that in the “Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022," the two defense ministries have coordinated to successfully organize many activities, contributing to affirming that defense cooperation is one of the important pillars in the bilateral relationship.

For his part, Major General Khamlek Sengphachan thanked the host for the reception and conveyed the greetings of Lieutenant General Khamlieng Outhakaysone, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Minister of Defense, Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army to the Vietnamese Chief of the General Staff.
Major General Khamlek Sengphachan informed Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong about the results of his earlier meeting with Lieutenant General Vu Van Kha, Acting Commander of the Vietnamese Air Defense - Air Force Service. He also took the occasion to thank the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, and the Air Defense - Air Force Service of Vietnam for supporting the Lao Air Force in training officers.
On this occasion, through Major General Khamlek Sengphachan, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong also sent greetings to Lieutenant General Khamlieng Outhakaysone.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the cooperation results between the two countries' air forces over the years and affirmed that the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always support and create all favorable conditions for the two sides to strengthen cooperation, contributing to deepening the bilateral defense ties.
The Vietnamese Chief of the General Staff suggested that in the coming time, the two sides should focus on key contents, such as staff training and experience sharing, contributing to building stronger air forces.
