Sena Techo Unit delegation of Cambodia visits Vietnam Military History Museum
PANO - On the morning of May 5, the Vietnam Military History Museum welcomed and worked with a delegation of the Sena Techo Unit under the General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia.

Deputy Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Le chaired the working session with the Cambodian delegation, led by General Nem Sowathey, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs and Commander of the Sena Techo Unit.
During the event, Sr. Col. Le briefed General Nem Sowathey and the delegation on the history and development of the Vietnam Military History Museum; the construction and inauguration of the symbolic area of international solidarity, friendship, and gratitude, including the statue cluster dedicated Cambodian military advisors; as well as visitor services and the collection, inventory, preservation, and management of artifacts at the museum. On this occasion, he expressed appreciation and hoped to continue receiving close coordination from the Sena Techo Unit in professional cooperation.
For his part, General Nem Sowathey congratulated the Vietnam Military History Museum on its newly-built facilities and expressed his emotion upon visiting the statue cluster dedicated Cambodian military advisors, thanking the Vietnamese side for its construction. He emphasized the long-standing traditional friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam and affirmed that cooperation in military history, including the victory over the genocidal regime on January 7, 1979, plays an important role in strengthening solidarity and friendship between the militaries and peoples of the two countries.

During the meeting, Sr. Col. Nguyen Thanh Le and General Nem Sowathey exchanged views on professional work and shared experience in managing and operating the Vietnam Military History Museum and Cambodia’s Win-Win Monument Museum; research, collection, preservation, and exchange of materials and artifacts related to the military histories of Vietnam and Cambodia during the wars against colonialism and imperialism; the national salvation journey of Samdech Techo Hun Sen from 1977 to 1979; Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military advisors in Cambodia; and images, documents, and artifacts related to defense diplomacy activities between the two countries from 1989 to the present.
